As the State Bar rolls out the Client Trust Account Protection Program (CTAPP) audit requirements, Gursey Schneider LLP, one of the few approved audit firms, will walk you through a sample engagement, present an in-depth review of the first round, explain common findings, and provide you with ways to better prepare for a potential CTAPP audit. The goal is to have a collaborative session on trust accounting and reporting requirements in the context of the CTAPP compliance framework.

Gary Krausz, CTAPP Engagement Partner, Gursey Schneider

Gary Krausz is a Partner at Gursey Schneider and head of the firm’s Accounting and Auditing Department, bringing over two decades of experience providing audit, accounting, forensic, and consulting services to middle-market businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout Southern California. A recognized leader in his field, Gary serves as Chair of the CalCPA Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards Technical Committee, teaches at UCLA Extension, and is credentialed as a Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) professional by the AICPA, with extensive experience as an expert witness in Federal and State courts. He holds a B.A. in Economics from UC San Diego and a Master of Accounting degree from USC, and prior to joining Gursey Schneider, served as an Audit Senior Manager and National Assurance Instructor at a Big Four accounting firm.

Jennifer Stalvey, Program Manager of the State Bar’s Client Trust Account Protection Program (CTAPP)

Jennifer Stalvey joined the State Bar of California in 2022 and served as the State Bar’s first in-house forensic accountant. She later joined the Division of Regulation and currently serves as Program Manager of the State Bar’s Client Trust Account Protection Program (CTAPP), supporting the State Bar’s compliance reviews and investigative audits of California attorneys’ trust accounting practices. She is a certified public accountant, licensed in Tennessee and California. She has provided forensic accounting and expert witness services in California, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
